- An Airforce Brat, I grew up in the Azores, Whicita Falls, Texas and near Dayton Ohio although I was born in PA. On my dad's side they were crystal makers until the early 1900s and on my Mom's side they were knitting, crocheting, sewing, tatting, making rag rugs and making do...I started making clothes from old clothes and remnants when I was about 14.
